In an effort to help the budget balance itself, the Trudeau government raises carbon tax

When the prime minister's office said in December 2020 that now is not the time to raise taxes on already broke Canadians, they were lying. That's because the carbon tax is scheduled to increase by 33% on April 1st, from $30 to $40 per tonne of industrial greenhouse gas emission.
